About Audio Restoration at Audacious Arts
Audio restoration at Audacious Arts includes removal of hiss, hum, clicks, rumble, crackle, environmental and mechanical noise, such as air conditioners, computer fans, drive motors, etc. Media deteriorates over time and charged particles gradually lose their charge. Noise gradually increases. On analog recordings, this results in increased hiss, which eventually drowns out the recorded signal. On digital recordings, this can result in loud pops and crackling. We can eliminate or dramatically reduce these kinds of noise, restoring your recordings, and returning them to you on CD.
The Audio Restoration Process
The process varies somewhat depending on the needs of each project, but it usually involves the following steps:
Formats Accepted
We are equipped to handle most common types of media, including cassette, DAT, VHS, CD, 1/4" 2-track reel, and vinyl records. We have access to additional equipment to work with other formats, if necessary. If your project is in an unusual format, contact us before sending it.
How Much Does It Cost?
Fees are billed in 20-minute increments. Each 20 minutes of audio is $50.00. So, restoring a 40-minute recording would cost $100.00; a 60-minute recording would cost $150.00. Charges for shipping and insurance vary.
