Audio mastering at Audacious Arts usually involves EQ, multi-band compression, limiting, sequencing tracks, fades, gain adjustment, enhancement, stereo image adjustment, and burning a Red Book master CD. The exact process varies from project to project -- a recording by a classical guitarist requires a very different mastering treatment than one by a metal band.
We are equipped to handle most common types of media. The best choice is to send your project on CD-ROM as stereo sound files, AIFF, WAVE, SD2, etc. The higher the resolution, the better the final product will be -- 24-bit, 96k files are preferred.
Fees are billed in 20-minute increments. Each 20 minutes of audio is $50.00. So, mastering a 40-minute recording would cost $100.00; a 60-minute recording would cost $150.00. Charges for shipping and insurance vary.
